Howdy all,
Today was a pretty slow day at the station. We banded a whooping 11 birds.
The highlight capture of the day, if there was one, was a YELLOW-BELLIED
FLYCATCHER. Although it was slow most of the day, we did see a little flock of
warblers on one of our net runs that was highlighted by a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER.
Maybe that one will be around tomorrow.
This evening at the ESVNWR there was a group of five AMERICAN KESTRELS that
passed over the house, a CASPIAN TERN, 150+ EASTERN KINGBIRDS, and at least 8
different RUDY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRDS coming to my feeders.
Here are the low totals for 8/27:
American Redstart 4
Common Yellowthroat 1
Northern Waterthrush 1
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher 1
Traill's Flycatcher 1
Northern Cardinal 1
Northern Mockingbird 2
TOTAL --------------------------- 11
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
