Gentle Readers,
Mary Floyd and Barbara Perry led a group of nine birders on the Monday Morning
Birdwalk from 0700 to 0900 on 12/06/2004. A pair of Gadwalls, a male and a
female, brightened an otherwise rainy and dreary day.
34 Wilson's or Common Snipe, depending on which side of the bed you got out of
this morning, were seen on Monday morning. This continues the record numbers
of Snipe seen at Huntley Meadows Park over the last three weeks. More Common
Snipe are seen at the Park in one day than have been observed all year in some
previous years. Are Wilson's Snipe numbers higher all over Northern Virginia
or is it just Huntley Meadows Park?
