A nice batch of migrants was active Sunday morning on the west side of the
woodcock meadow, with good numbers of warblers, flycatchers, vireos, and
hummers: yellowthroat (8), magnolia (6), BTG (4), prairie (3), palm (2+,
western),
BTB (2 female), Cape May (1 HY), redstart (1 adult male), parula (1); pewee
(6+), kingbird (2), phoebe (1), Acadian (1 singing), other empid (2); red-eyed
(5+), white-eyed (1); ruby-throated (4+). Other birds of note included 3
buntings (2 in funky molt), 1 towhee, 2 house wrens, 3 catbirds, 1 mocker
(unusual
here), 12 waxwings.
