Two great mornings at Huntley.  Tuesday was the annual fundraiser to
support the Resource Management Internship at the Park.  (If you want to
donate: http://www.friendsofhuntleymeadows.org/birdathon2022.html ;).  Four
teams saw or heard a total of 103 species, one of our better totals.
Goodies included:
Blue-winged teal
Little blue heron
Great horned owl
Common nighthawk
Peregrine falcon
Least flycatcher
Red, white, blue (and yellow) vireos
Raven
Epic numbers of thrushes and ovenbirds
Savannah sparrow
Rusty blackbird
Both orioles
20 species of warbler (including blue-winged, Nashville, worm-eating,
hooded, and Canada)

This morning the conditions were much less pleasant, but the birding was
equally good.   I saw or heard 70 species along the Hike/Bike Trail,
including:

Least sandpiper
Scores of swallows somewhat desperately foraging near the surface of the
water (this weekend might have caused serious nest failures)
Lingering ruby-crowned kinglets
25 thrushes of 4 species (including 12 Swainson's)
Chat singing vigorously between the trail and the Woodcock meadow
Lingering white-throated and swamp sparrows
15 species of warbler (including blue-winged and Canada)
