Hi Va-Birders,
We had 3 Horned Grebes, 1 Red-Throated Loon and 1 Common Loon at Gloucester
Point Beach between 11am and 12pm today. The Grebes were in various stages
of breeding plumage, with one quite striking. They were feeding together in
the cove on the south side below the Coleman Bridge. The 2 Loons were out
in the open waters of the York River. We also had close-up looks at a lone
female Ruddy Duck feeding to the left of the fishing pier.
