Sunday night 9:15 p.m. saw a Whip-poo-will fly up from the middle of
Laurel Fork Road at bottom of Lantz Mt. near Straight Fork. Forty years
ago when I lived there, they would sit in the road, red eyes glaring,
and you had to get out of the car and make them move anytime you went
out at night. I'd go outside and shake my fist and yell at them to shut
up so I could sleep. Great to see one in the road again!
