Weather:
Wind speed: 6-11 km/h; WInd Dir.: SE, Temp: 25.5c; Humidity:66%;
Bar.Pressure - 1018; cloud cover: zero
Observations:
Between 5-6 p.m. EST 3 adult RT were observed on north side of ridge. A
4th adult and 1 juvenile RT joined the 3. One adult left, heading South
across gap and continued on.
No morning coverage and late afternoon produced group of RT more typical of
October. Small bands of Chimney Swift swirled around. Several large
flocks of Eur.Starling well over 500 crossed gap heading west into the
valley. I was very disappointed to find that sometime between Sunday
afternoon and my arrival at 4:30 p.m. today all of the resident Barn
Swallow were gone. Not one was to be found. Ruby-throated Hummingbird: 4
including one adult male with a bright shimmering orange throat. Small
band of Cedar Waxwing were moving through treetops on nearby hillside
overlooking Eastern Cottontail feeding out in the open. One Common
Nighthawk found heading west through the gap.
