Weather:
Wind: west 12-19km/h changing to out of the NW;
Temp: 24c>29.5c by 12pm EST; Temperature jumped to 35c by top of the next
hour and 37c by 2pm.;
Humidity: 72% dropping throughout the day to 38c;
Bar.Pressure: 1012 dropping to 1011;
Cloud cover: partly cloudy (16-50%) increasing to overcast and
threatening by 2pm. EST.;
Considerably hazy throughout the day;
Raptor Observations:
Several Broad-winged and an immature Red-tailed flew in close, to within 20
feet of the observers, stirring up the migrating Barn Swallow and providing
a "WOW" moment.
Non-raptor Observations:
Barn Swallow - a non-stop flow throughout the day with birds sprinkled all
over the sky, easily exceeding yesterday's impressive flight. Today's
very conservative estimate: 3,000+;
Monarch Butterfly: 3 pushing through, not including the many feeding on
the wildflowers showcasing the mountainside.
