Four determined birders from the No. Va. Bird club showed up at Thompson
today. Best birds
were a very handsome HOODED WARBLER, several REDSTARTS, NO. PARULA,
YELLOW-RUMPED, OVENBIRD,
LA. WATERTHRUSH, lots of RC KINGLETS, and many TOWHEES. I heard my first
WOOD THRUSH at
Thompson lake. It is still pretty bare and birdless at the top of the
ridge, but the
Trilliums are in full bloom.
