All,

This mourning, I digiscoped a GCFC carrying nesting material (dead pine needles) into a tree cavity at a neighborhood park in Alexandria, VA. Click into the link below to see this bird exiting the cavity. While nesting material was being gathered and carried to the cavity, this bird's mate was at hand performing silent escort duty to and from the cavity. I watched a couple of CO-CN carries before I set up to digiscope the GCFC exiting the cavity. Digiscope was obtained with a 21X fixed eyepiece at distance. Before leaving the park for the mourning, I heard the male singing on territory. This digiscope will be removed from its download server sometime tomorrow.

Local birders working on the Dyke Marsh breeding bird survey should know that this bird was digiscoped at another Alexandria venue altogether.
