Cornell really does't like our Snowy Owl. I reported it for yesterday, Sunday,
after seeing it about 9:45 a.m. Sent Cornell an e-mail, along with a very poor
picture, referring them to this web site as confirmation that there was really
an owl at Dulles.

They don't seem to like our Snowy Owl much. I went by Dulles and found it on
the lightpost Saturday around 5:45 pm (actually another birder was already on
it) and reported it when I got home. In the comments box I put: "at Dulles
Airport, present for two weeks, seen by hundreds". Not on the list so far.
On the other hand, a Long-eared Owl was reported from Gloucester, nice! A much
better result than my aimless wanderings Saturday afternoon.
Cheers,

PS If you don't see Snowy Owl on the Virginia GBBC list, click the "include
rarities" button on the page with the birds and the full list shows up. Maybe
if more people submit it they'll count it.
