VA-Birders,
Fourteen birders joined me on the free and open to all birdwalk at Dyke Marsh
this humid morning. We tallied nearly sixty species, with the Black-and-White
Warbler being the least expected of 4 warbler species. The Great Egret numbers
continue to grow, and Osprey young are getting close to independence. Getting
glimpses of M&F Orchard Oriole, scope views of Indigo Bunting, and seeing an
adult Purple Martin pass a bug to a fledgling while both were in flight were
other highlights. Thanks to all, especially Ed Eder, Rich Reiger, and Kelly
Eigler for sharing their talents with the group. Complete list follows.
