Sharon Lynn and I found a few interesting birds at Ft. Belvoir this
morning, including a Common Loon in basic plumage, a Broad-winged Hawk
soaring overhead, a few Greater Yellowlegs and a Lesser, Caspian and
Forsters's Terns, a couple of RC Kinglets, a House Wren, White-eyed
Vireos, lots of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, No. Parulas and Yellow-rumps,
and a Palm Warbler. An unexpected happy surprise was seeing a running
Wild Turkey and later hearing another gobbling. Greg Fleming told us he
had seen an Eastern Kingbird this morning.
