VA Birders,

I spent a good part of the day at Fort C.F. Smith Park in Arlington
today, joined at various times by Pat Blyer, Barbara Caldwell, and John Fox.
We
counted over 50 species of birds, including 17 which came to the park's Bird
Stream.  Highlights included:  CEDAR WAXWINGS, SCARLET TANAGER, CHIPPING &
SAVANNAH SPARROWS, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, INDIGO BUNTING, & ORCHARD ORIOLE in
the
Bird Stream; BLUE-HEADED & RED-EYED VIREOS, which checked out the Bird Stream
but didn't take the plunge; and OSPREY, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, & GREAT CRESTED
FLYCATCHER.  We had lots of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS in and out of the stream,
but no other warblers.

Good birding,
Val Kitchens
Arlington, VA
