Howdy all,
The last two days have actually been rather slow at the station. We only
banded 18 on the 13th and 15 on the 14th. That's kind of confusing isn't it?
Oops.
Anyway, nothing to crazy yesterday but today on our last run of the day, we
caught a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER. It was a beautiful bird! Never thought we
would catch one of them. Definitely the highlight of the last two days.

The totals for 5/13:
REDSTART                         1
BLACK-THROATED BLUE   2
C. YELLOWTHROAT           3
BLACKPOLL                       2
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW  1
GRAY CATBIRD                   5
WOOD THRUSH                  1
C. GRACKLE                       3
TOTAL ------------------------------  18

The totals for 5/14:
REDSTART                           1
BLACKPOLL                         1
PROTHONOTARY                  1
C. YELLOWTHROAT              3
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH  2
SWAINSON'S THRUSH           1
WOOD THRUSH                     2
GRAY CATBIRD                      2
GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER  1
RED-HEADED WOODPECKER     1
TOTAL ------------------------------------  15

I am not sure what it expect the next few days. The weather is kind of iffy
on when it is going to rain and I am not sure what the wind is going to do.
Guess we will find out!
Now how can we top a Red-headed woodpecker??

Cheers,
Jethro
