VA BIRDers,
Through the generous donation of an anonymous provider, a power boat will be
made available for up to 5 people (pilot provided) to travel to barrier islands
in the Southern Tip area of the Delmarva peninsula. As mentioned in earlier
messages, the Boat Team can land on either or both Wreck and Smith Is. as part
of their contribution to the Kiptopeke Challenge, Sept 20, 2003. Participants
will be in the best position to see a wide variety of shorebirds and waterfowl
on exposed mudflats and shoals in between islands as well as have the potential
for observing pelagic species. Donations go to the Coastal Virginia Wildlife
Observatory, an IRS non-profit organization. To register for this Fabulous
