Greetings to all:
Went to Staunton River State Park today to do some scouting for the upcoming
Banister River WMA Christmas Count.
Totaled 44 species for the day at the park and several other at Runt Powell's
farm on the way down.
The big surprise today to me was finding 6 female Common Mergansers which I
have found in the park for years in February but it has been a long time since
I have seen them there since the Staunton River is filling in with islands.
Didn't find that many sparrows today because it was so warm and didn't see a
Bald Eagle until 5 PM.
Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas
May the LORD Bless and Keep you
