I drove out to Mill Creek Lake in Amherst County this morning to try to
find a reported white winged scoter. I found the bird in with a group of
ruddy ducks far out in the lake. There were also three or four pairs of
common mergansers, 5 black ducks, 2 green winged teal and 2 gadwall. Scope
essential to see anything.
After I left Mill Creek in gusty wind I checked out Thrasher's and
Stonehouse lakes (almost nothing) and a couple of small ponds along the way.
