Hello all
Sorry if I caused any confusions on the directions for the Sandhill Crane in
the Swoope area. Here there are again .
If you are coming from the East take I 64 West to I 81 South to exit 220 ---
this will put you onto Rt. 262 West follow to Rt. 252 take a left onto Rt 252
South ( Middlebrook Rd. ) go about 2 miles to Rt. 693 take a right on Rt 693(
Cedar Green Rd. ) -- go about 2 miles on Rt 693 to Rt . 703 turn left onto
Rt. 703 follow this road to Rt . 708 a left turn . From this point at the
intersection of Rt 703 & 708 you will see the sign for CAMP SHENANDOAH B S A
follow theses signs until you come to Rt. 705 ( this part of Rt. 705 is hard
surface ) follow to the intersection of Rt . 705 & 707 ( the Y ) bear to the
right at this intersection this is where the road become dirt .( Note if you go
left this will take you to the Boy Scout Camp ) Follow Rt . 705 ( dirt road )
to the top of the hill --- you will see a white house on your left --- go just
past this house & you will see the pond on your right . The bird has been
hanging around in the short green grass to the left of the ponds main body of
water . Best viewing early morning or late evening . Hope this clears up any
confusion.
