I made a second visit to Metz this morning and found the clay-colored
sparrow. Finally. It was in the small trees past the monument on the
left, on the path towards the blind. It perched in plain view for a
good 20 seconds.
For a bit of backyard drama, an adult Cooper's hawk grabbed one of our
juncos for an afternoon snack. It dined on our patio, giving me a great
view of the rather grisly proceedings.
