I've put up a hummingbird feeder for many years, but this is the first time
that I've seen a Carolina chickadee feed from it. I've observed this
behavior at least three times in the past week or so. It (I assume it is the
same one each time) lands on a perch, sips "nectar" from one of the
"flowers," and takes off. (It doesn't have the hovering thing down yet.)
I've never before seen or heard of chickadees doing this, and I'm curious to
know if anyone else on the list has.
I saw a hummingbird at the feeder for the first time yesterday. It will be
interesting to see what, if any, interaction takes place between the hummers
and the chickadee.
