VA BIRDers,
Marc Ribaudo and I spied 2 Cackling Geese on the little pond on Harrison Rd
including about 520 Canada Geese plus a few ducks. The big Belvoir pond is
still mostly mud due to dam reconstruction.
Earlier we visited Blandy Farm in Clarke Co. Notable were 7 Pine Siskins;
there were a few other interesting birds in the nearby conifers. Also
Eastern Screech Owl in the woods along Tuleyries Lane (maybe eating all the
Brown Creepers there?).
A late stop at Silver Lake was completely unproductive waterfowl-wise.
