Andy Higgs, Mary Floyd, and Gene Keefe led ten other observers on the Mon=
day Morning Birdwalk at Huntley Meadows Park yesterday, 4 August 2003. F=
orty-three species were observed. This in spite of the terrible lighting=
early in the morning =96 everything seemed backlit. =
The Red-winged Blackbirds do not know that they are supposed to be in Lou=
don County this month; the number of Red-winged Blackbirds observed remai=
ns unchanged. Another anomaly, the Bufflehead, is still in the Central P=
ond. These observations show the limits of statistics =96 history is but=
a guide, not a rule.
