Greetings,
The juvenile Brant continues off the Bay View Trail at Mason Neck State Park.
It only took me three hours to find the bird! I met up with Jim Fitzgerald
there and unfortunately, after spending hours looking for the bird, Jim left
shortly before I found it. Sorry Jim! The Brant was loosely associating with
Ruddy Ducks and Lesser Scaup and was nowhere near any Canada Geese. I'd been
focusing my attention on sorting through the flocks of Canadas, hoping to
pick out the Brant. It was a beautiful day to be sorting through the
thousands of ducks, mostly ruddies and scaup. I love to hear the run and
patter sounds of these hordes taking flight.
