Hello all
This morning John Pancake & I took off in search of the Sandhill Cranes on
Kiddsville Rd. After several passes nothing but on the last pass there they
were as to pop out of thin air . At McCune's a Great Egret & a few Wood Duck .
We headed up to Rockingham County to Oakwood Rd to see if the Stilt Sandpiper
was still around . William Leigh called me & stated that the Stilt was not
there . We stopped by & William was still there & shortly the Stilt was found
with Pectoral , Killdeer , Least & Semipalmated Sandpiper plus a Blue - winged
Teal . After that we took off towards Briery Branch & we stopped by the
Wetlands where we had both Va & Sora Rail call out . Once in Bridgewater we
stopped at the Wildwood Park but no White Ibis .
After the visit to Wildwood we headed back into Augusta County & out to Swoope
at Smith's pond where the water is to high for Shorebirds . Not a bad day of
birding in two Counties .
