eNature, one of National Wildlife's web sites, has the sound bytes for
almost all North American birds. They have developed a series of field
guides covering virtually all of the birds of the country as well as
mammals, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies and many other insects, trees
and herbaceous species of plants.
They also sell a pretty neat chip for a Palm device that offers info--
a photo or two, range map, field marks, and a text description as well
as a short but very adequate song file on 316 species for Virginia.
