On New Year's Day, I saw three bald eagles perched on pylon near Beaverdam
Reservoir, Ashburn, Virginia. The two adult birds seemed to be the parents of
the third, a juvenile. I did see other bald eagles, which I would guess were
the same two adults.
There were many ducks, gulls, and geese. A noisy, magnificent, large red
shoulder hawk put on a splendid show right about 100 feet above me.
