Today while on the Back Bay Christmas bird count , an Ash-throated Flycatcher
was discovered on Pocahontas Club road by mailbox 6260. The bird didn't hang
around long it flew out into an open field where I lost sight of it. We looked
for it without success but I'm betting the bird will remain in the area . While
viewing the bird it was actively calling so if looking for the bird listen for
that Wit wit note . Before it departed I managed a few photos .
Other birds of note were 3 Laughing gulls , and an impressive number of White
Ibis 700 , King Rail and Sora .
Cheers
Andrew
