Hello fellowbirders,
Yesterday afternoon 4-22-05 I decided to visit the 3 lakes off of Rt.
60. When I arrived at Mill Creek Lake there were 37 RING BILLED
GULLS in the parking lot. In with them was 1 BONAPART'S GULL
and 1 CASPIAN TERN. There were also 20 COMMON LOONS, 4
RED BREASTED MERGANSERS, about 20 COOT, 4 OSPREY,
and many SPOTTED SANPIPERS on the shore line. At the bridge
were the creek goes into the lake there was 1 DUNLIN going into
breeding plumage and 8 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS. I then visited
Stonehouse Lake. There wasn't anything there. Then I went to
Thrashers Lake. There was 1 COMMON LOON, 1 BLUE- WINGED
TEAL, 1 AM WIGEON, 1 female HOODED MERGANSER and 1
OSPREY. I was at the lakes for 3 hours. I forgot at Mill Creek Lake
there were 52 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS.
