Hello all
Today I had the chance to show an out of state birder around our County. Diana
Pesek from Cedar Rapids Iowa who was here visiting her parents . She grew up &
went to school in Waynesboro but went to College in Iowa & stayed . Anyway we
did the full rounds in pond checking & even went up on Rt. 610 to look for
Warblers .
Our first stop was Quillin's pond . Below is a list of all the migrants we saw .
Quillin's
Great Blue -- 1
Green Heron -- 4
Wood Duck -- 5
Blue -- winged Teal -- 3
Am . Avocet -- 8
I went back to see if the Avocet's were still there this afternoon . Sorry
Diana dropped you off to soon .Here is what I found Pectoral Sandpiper -- 2
Least -- 3
Semipalmated Sandpiper -- 1
Spotted -- 1
McCune's
Wood Duck -- 20 +
Smith's
Great Blue -- 1
Great Egret -- 1 -- we saw another egret some where but I can not remember
where .
Semipalmated Plover -- 1
Killdeer -- 25 +
Lesser Yellowlegs -- 1
Solitary -- 1
Spotted -- 3
Least Sandpiper -- 2
STP
Lesser Yellowlegs -- 1
Bells Lane was quite & we had several flurries of a few migrants on Rt 610.
Blue -- headed Vireo -- 1
Red -- eyed Vireo -- 4
Pine Warbler -- 1
Worm - eating -- 1
Hooded -- 1
Scarlet Tanager -- 5 +
A few birds today but good ones . Happy Birding to all .
