In keeping with the low numbers of migrant shorebirds I had recorded at
the mouth of Hunting Creek this weekend, there were few birds along the
Eisenhower Ave channel prior to high tide. (The heat, humidity, and
sunshine dissuaded us from staying longer to see whether the numbers
would build.)
1050 to 1210 EDT: checking sandbars in Hunting Creek/Cameron Run
channel from bike path along S side Eisenhower Ave; from Bluestone Rd,
upstream c 1km, downstream c 400 m.; spent the last 20 minutes with
Paula Sullivan and Paul Kane, below first dam up from Bluestone;
31 - 32 C; hazy sunshine; NW 8 km/hr; humid; high tide, mouth
