Folks-
This morning between 8:30 and 9:00 at Jamestown i saw:
Black and White Warbler (1)
Northern Parula (2) - first this year?
Yellow-Throated Warbler (many)
Pine Warbler (female)
Yellow-Rumped Warbler (many)
as well as,
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher (4-5)
Swamp Sparrows
Great Horned Owl (pair)
Wild Turkey
and a soaring Bald Eagle
among the other common creatures. Everyone was singing, except the B&W
warbler.
The Parulas and B&W were seen along the outward stretch of the Jmaestown
Island Loop Road along the left side of the road (abutting the swamp) just
before Black Point. Everyone has their definition of Spring's beginning,
but for me its hearing that unmistakable song of the Parula.
