email is lame... but here's the real one: Little boy sees crazy dude every day. He=92s always sitting in the same place and little boy gets curious, decides to ask him what he=92s doing. Crazy dude=92s answers are very cryptic but little boy eventually understands that this is crazy=92s favorite place. And so this is where he likes to be. Little boy is confused by this because of the lack of appeal the place seems to have. But he asks about having his own favorite place. But crazy still won=92t give him any concise answers. As he is leaving crazy dude tells him, something to the effect of, =93you see the place that sees you back.=94 Little boy goes around asking various others about where and what he should look for to find his place. He asks a person who lacks opinion or preference of anything. This person tells him that all places are the same, so there can be no favorites. He asks a rusher who is too caught up and constantly moving. They express confusion about the concept of places=85 there is only the here and now, to them everything is in perpetual motion and non-descript. So little boy decides he needs a strictly logical approach and asks the all-knowing invention guy database thing. The AI is stumped; it doesn=92t have a place, because it=92s never actually been anywhere The AI asks little boy to make him a body/vessel so that he can go out and explore the universe for real. Little boy builds a body to suit the AI=92s specifications, complete with everything one would ever need, as derived from AI=92s knowledge. So the AI goes out and falls off the edge of nothing and comes back. When it returns it has discarded much of what it previously thought was absolutely necessary. Little boy wants to know eagerly if the AI has found a place for him, but the AI is only interested in the river bend. Little boy keeps bothering him and the AI tells him that he must go on his own journeys to find his own place, whether he de travels over large distances with his feet or with his mind only he can do the searching. It may take him all of his lifetime but he will find it and then he will just be there.
