There is no question that lithium mining is a filthy process. The same can be
said of fracking. The effects of both are long lasting. That said, fracking
is much more dangerous because it contaminates the strata where the water
supply "lives." The damage that fracking chemicals do spreads over a region,
as the strata interconnect. The contaminants are often undetectable to the
sensoria until it is too late to avoid being poisoned.
Fracking is the last gasp of a dying industry, trying to extract the last
supplies of both petroleum and natural gas from regions that are nearly
exhausted.
When I worked with a company that was developing a "Cleaner" fracking recipe,
we examined the interconnections and realized that in Pennsylvania, for
example, what goes on at the eastern end of the state, contaminates both the
rest of the state and western New York. As this was the area we were working,
we did not really examine outside the company's area of interest.
Having said all of that, it is easier to clean up lithium byproducts than it is
to clean up fracking byproducts.
Now, in terms of the effects, burning petrochemicals does more immediate damage
to the environment and does not provide a long-term benefit to the user.

If your interested look up lithium mining and compare it to fracking. You might
also discover some interesting facts in what countries this mining is done.

Both do THE SAME???
What’s your evidence? What are your sources for your “opinion”?
Show me the numbers. For on the face of it the footprint of natural gas far
exceeds that of lithium mining.

“The scheme of combustion to get power makes me sick to think of it, it’s so
wasteful. You see, we should utilize natural forces and thus get all of our
power.. Sunshine is a form of energy, and the winds and the winds and tides are
manifestations of energy. Do we use them? Oh no! We burn up wood and coal, as
renters burn up the front fence for fuel. We live like squatters, not as if we
owned the property.”
