Interesting. These data are suggestive but there are also issues not addressed
here, such as mask wearing and the capability of health facilities to deal with
the number of patients presenting themselves. A lot of people [with no
insurance or otherwise] are reluctant to go to the ER for whatever reason
during a pandemic, especially for fear of contagion. It has been demonstrated
that isolated people are more likely to become depressed and engage in risky or
self-damaging behavior.
There is a lot of conflation in this piece and very little analysis. Eric
