Not for public workers in New York State

Eric,
I want to take a second to talk about something historic that happened on
Capitol Hill, how it’s part of a larger trend and how we can fight
side-by-side to make it a whole lot less novel.
After countless workers in Congress shared their stories of the workplace
environment they endure, I was proud to introduce legislation that would
allow for staff to form unions in our House offices and committees.
Workers’ rights are human rights, and everyone deserves a just and safe
working environment, with fair wages and equitable benefits. Over 130 of my
Democratic colleagues have cosponsored my resolution, and I’m thrilled to
stand in solidarity with the workers organizing this effort.
Of course, this issue is way, way bigger than Capitol Hill. Across the
country, workers are raising their voices and taking to the streets with a
clear message for employers everywhere who treat their employees poorly and
barely pay a living wage: time’s up. Working people are demanding change, and
CEOs are getting a wake-up call.
Eric, every worker deserves the opportunity to join a union. It’s time to
show the bosses – from Washington to board rooms – that we’re demanding
action. Add your name in support of the right to form a union right away.

I’ve spent my career fighting for the rights of workers across Michigan –
starting as a union organizer with the SEIU, and now in Congress. I’m honored
to earn endorsements from some of the largest labor unions in the country
(including SEIU!) in my reelection campaign, and I look forward to advancing
worker-first policies in the House.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, Eric. I’ve seen these efforts on the
ground – last year, I fought alongside the Amazon employees in Bessemer,
Alabama before union busting prevailed. After the NLRB declared Amazon had
cheated, the workers there are voting again right now! I joined Starbucks
employees in Clinton Township, Michigan to stand in solidarity as they aim to
unionize. These moments motivate me every day to keep fighting for
progressive values – so working people can get the fair share they’ve earned.
Sign your name if you agree that every worker has the right to form and join
a union, Eric. This is what I came to Congress to do, to amplify the voice
and power of working people to bring about the fundamental change we need. I
hope you’ll join me.

Let’s go!
