<USS Atlantis> Sim Status

While at work, I've tried aol.com, aim.com, and Quick Buddy.
None seem to work. I get password windows which I'm able
to fill out, but when I send them, they say they are communicating,
but nothing happens.

Let me explain that I work on a Sun Workstation that's probably
about ten years old now. The only version of Netscape for which
we're approved, due to all the arcane legacy (pre-Internet/IP) systems
and other software is version 4.7 (I believe.) (Not to mention that we
"farmed out" our support ot IBM -- they can't seem to support anything
more recent, and tell us we're lucky to have what we do.) I think the
workstation has the equivalent of a 150 megahertz processor -- good in
its day, but that day has been gone for awhile.

There are rumors of server upgrades, which may help...

The gist of all this is that due to my current work schedule (4 pm to
midnight for the next six months) and the constraints of the systems at
work, I shan't be able to actively sim.

I hope to contribute logs in order to at least stay in the background of
the crew's activities.

Thanks,
Brian
