As the shuttles dropped to sub-warp speeds to enter the quest-sector, Svonn scanned the area.  He located the Starzen listening buoys, which would normally alert the Starzen patrols to any trespassers.  Svonn watched them for any activity.

"We have successfully passed the Starzen listening buoys," Svonn stated.  He directed sensors to the planet ahead.  "I am preparing for our pass-by scan of the surface."  He sent a message to Dhivael, aboard the second shuttle, to do sensor sweerps in a criss-crossing pattern. After their first pass around the planet, Svonn analyzed the incoming data.

"Pending a report from Arrain Dhivael," Svonn said to Ronov, "I am seeing life signs to the northern hemisphere. Her scans should show more readily whether there is any indication that this is a technologically advanced race, but as of this time, I see no evidence of them being so.

"On the Eastern hemisphere, just below the planet's equator, I am detecting the power signatures consistent with those we discovered on the first Elder base, but am detecting no life signs in that region. It would be my recommendation to descend to the planet for a closer examination."
