[usbca_chess] set, some pieces donâ?Tt fit I am doing a chess set busness here
in Malaysia. If you are interested, you can email me to get the cost of a
foldable chess set about 1 foot by 1 foot in measureness. The pieces are made
of plasic and has a good grip onto the board. When its folded, it comes up
into a little portable component which can be carried in your bags just around
anywhere. When its folded, it would look like around 1 foot by 6 inches in
measurements. There's a clip on the outside which would hold the folded pieces
together tightly. You can plce all the pieces inside the board and is
convenient. Cost is only US50 dollars. With Warm Regards,J. Louis PremBlind

-0000Subject: [usbca_chess] Re: [usbca_chess] Hadley chess set, some pieces
donâ?Tt fitwhen I've had the problem of pieces being to loose compared to the
average piece then I resort to varnishing the affected pieces peg until the
pegs new thickness means the piece will stick in tighter. Sometimes I've had
to varnish a pieces peg several times to thicken the peg to make a snug fit.Now
if the hole is too big compared to the average piece then I tackle this by
using a matchstick dipped into some wood glue which I then carefully insert
into the affected hole and then wiggle which tends to leave a slight residue
behind. If this process is repeated you can effectively make the hole snugger.
Of course what often happens is that the hole gets to tight or blocked and
then you need to use a rodd or drill bit of theapproximate diameter or slightly
smaller size of the average peg size you require to open out the hole again so
the piece will fit snuggly.I'm afraid the above procedure does take a lot of
patience and trial and error but does work.I have many chess boards where I've
had to use the above procedures. I like to be able to hold my chess boards
upside down without pieces falling out as I really like pieces to fit snuggly.
Sometimes if all pieces are very loose then the chess board can be very noisy
wehn the board is being examined by the visually impaired chess player. There is
also another procedure for mending snapped pegs but that is considerably much
more complicated!Mark.----- Original Message -----From: Din Din (Redacted

AMSubject: [usbca_chess] Hadley chess set, some pieces donâ?Tt fitHi,I have a
chess set from Hadley. It's about ten years old. There has never been a snug
fit between some of the board's holes and some of the pieces. In some cases,
the holes are too big -- no piece fits snugly. In other cases, the base of
some pieces are too small -- these pieces don't fit snugly into any hole.I
haven't tried filling in the "too large" holes. I've tried wrapping tape
around the base of the "too small" pieces, but the tape doesn't stick for very
long.Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated. It's one
of the main reasons I keep losing interest in chess. Thanks,DanSent from my
rotary phone.
