Subject: Welcome Sandra Pilz, Newest Hadley Grad! & Two Additional Grads!
Hi All,
Before I begin my introductions, I need to make a confession. As I was
gathering and reviewing details for this intro, I made a discovery. Not one but
two Hadleuy grads have not been introduced to the group. Entirely my fault. I
can only claim distractability and plead clemency! I had originally thought to
introduce each under separate cover, but there really seems no good reason not
to have all of the info in one place.
To introduce the most recent graduate of the Hadley chess courses, Meet Sandra
Pilz of Germany. She completed the Hadley chess courses as recently as last
Friday, 30 August.
Graduating between Roberto and Sandra is Jamal Haj Mahmoud of Texas.
And graduating all the way back in January of this yeart is Irene Hampton of
Canada.
Jamal and Irene, I can only apologize and say I was sure I had introduced you
to the group. But, since I can find no evidence of it in Sentmail, or anywhere
else, I have to conclude my own oversight and hope that “Better late than
never” can serve.
Introductions:Sandra, Jamal, Irene, Jim Homme is our President, Evan is our VP,
Renee is our Secretary, Alan is our Rebel Without a Cause! He is our Treasurer,
but we aren’t charging membership dues just now, so he’s perhaps a bit at loose
ends. Maybe up for an email game of chess? Chris is our Tournament Director. He
handles all things correspondence, including the Ladder Tournament—which might
be one good place for you to start playing some chess and getting to know
everybody. Chris can fill you in on all the details. Curtis handles our skype,
AKA realtime, tournaments. The people listed in the CC line are our Hadley
grads. And there are a whole host of people from all over the world under the
usbca_chess umbrella.
