Hi, Jim: A Fischer 960 would be interesting. I’ll play in either tournament
and help with the TK/SK duties.

Curtis, and all USBCAers,
The USBCA very definitely Does still have a Realtime, i.e. skype, division. I
am the Assistant TD in charge of it. Unfortunately, the last, what, three
months or so have been so chaotic in my life, not to mention so totally overrun
with more tournaments than most mortals can keep up with, that it just didn’t
seem feasible to try to organize yet another one.
Having said that, allow me to use this note to call for player interest. I am
considering a chess960 tournament, with a time control of 30/60 cumulative, or
perhaps a normal Swiss with a somewhat compressed time schedule. I’m thinking
possibly game/60. If you are interested in one of those, or if you have yet
another suggestion, please let me know during the next week.
I’m thinking that rounds will be two weeks in length. For reasons which I won’t
go into just yet, I’d like to have the tournament run from the beginning of
August through the end of September, keeping those last three months clear for
purposes to be named later.
Let me hear from you,
Jim T

Subject: [usbca_chess] Real Time Division? Does it still exist?
Hello All,
A lot of people ask me, "Does the US BCA still have a Real Time (Skype)
Division?". I don't know the answer, so I am posting it to the list.
