Greetings All List Members!!
Now that 2020 is upon us, it is time for a brand new year of chess!!
So, with no further ado, lets get started!!
I would like to invite everyone to join in and play in the first tournament of
2020!
Are you just a beginner, no problem! Are you rusty and have not played in
several years, no problem!
This tournament is for all players, whether you are a beginner or you have been
playing for years!
And if you are not currently a member of the US BCA, no worries, by signing up
for the tournament, you will also be signing up for our membership, which is
totally free!
Now in memory of a great knowledgeable chess player and long time member of the
US BCA, I would like to dedicate this years tournament to Glenn Royer, who we
unfortunately lost this year.
The Tournament will begin on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
So how does it work?
In the 2020 Royer Divisional Tournament, everyone will be divided into
divisions depending on their playing strength. Each player will play the other
players in their division in two games, once as white and once as black. There
will be 10 rounds in the tournament, each round starting on the 15th of each
month. At the end of the tournament, the player that has the most wins in each
division will be a Divisional Winner in the 2020 Royer Divisional Tournament!
So what do you think? Can you take home the gold and win your division?
And for those Gold Belt Divisional Winners of 2019, do you think you can hold
on to your belt and win your division again??
To sum things up:
* This is a correspondence tournament played by email.
* Participants of the tournament will be divided into divisions, no more than 6
players, depending on their playing strength.
* Not at the same time or back to back, but you will play each player in your
division two times, once as white and once as black.
* The tournament will consist of 10 rounes, each round starting on the 15th of
each month.
* At the end of the tournament, the player who wins the most games in their
division will be a Divisional Winner of the tournament!
This is going to be a fun and enjoyable tournament with lots of competition, so
I would highly encourage you to sign up!! It is a good way to meet and get to
know other people in the US BCA, while doing one of our favorite past times...
playing chess!
I would hate for you to miss out on such a great event, so to sign up, please
send your request to me as soon as possible, but no later than January 12 2020.
Please send it to:
