Sad news indeed! In addition to sharing an interest in chess with Kathy, she
and I are fans of the San Francisco Giants. She will be missed.

tidings. We have lost a friend and a long-time and ardent supporter of chess.
Kathy Mertz has passed away. The details are quite sparse. I am forwarding the

Hello everyone,
with the heavy hart and lots of disappointments, I am sharing this bad
news with you that Kathy is no more in this world. I spoke to the
emergency department and medical department from her state and they
told me about her death.
I'm not sure about you guys, but I have lost a good, honest and
committed friend. she was always excited to work with me, and we used
to help each other. I always considered her my family and I'm
absolutely dejected with this news. the people at the medical office
told me that she had some hart disease which caused her death.
I hope she rest in piece, and I will always miss her. to me, she was a
family in the states and I have lost it.
