And I think he'll break in the tie breaks. I think if or when it gets
that far, we're going to see a far more aggressive Carlsen. I say that
as a Caruana fan while being as objective as possible.
It certainly does sound like you've been busy. So, if you have a
moment to answer a couple questions I sent, great. If not, I

This fourth game was the most boring of them all. No attempt by Carlsen to
win. Draws are all fine for him. It's up to Caruana to make the push with
the white pieces. Caruana will either push through or break. Carlsen's
simply waiting for that.

Hi, everyone.
Well, today, the reigning world champion put some English in his opening and
got a reversed Sicilian in return. Heretofore, no one has broken each
other's armor. So, after 34 moves, they challed it a draw.
Some of the kibitzing reflects some of what I've been thinking thus
far--that Carlsen is content drawing games as long as he can get to tie
breaks where he will have a proven decisive advantage. After all, if played,
they would be rapid or blitz. Black, so far has come out of the openings
with equality and this is the case today as well.
Of course, for most of us, at our level, every win, lose or draw is
instructive. So, a review of the game will prove insightful, whether
accompanied by coffee, Scotch, soda or another drink of your choice.
The game score is below. If memory serves me well, there's a rest day
tomorrow. Then, we've got game 5 on Thursday.
