There’s actually an easier way to add people to a conference with an iDevice.
Perhaps it’s available on the PC as well. I found it when I was on a Skype call
with Chris.
Once you’re on a call, there’s a More Options button. You double tap that, and
there’s an Add People button. When you double tap that, your list of Contacts
comes up with a check box by each one. Check the one or ones you want to add
and double tap on Add to Call and Skype will call them.
Much simpler.
Thanks to Jim T and Chris. I’m all set up now.

iPhone?
Thanks Chris, Jim Thoune called me and we got it done.
Apparently, you create a group with the people you want in the conference call
and then when you hit the Done button, you get options such as Audio Call and
Video Call.
I think that’s basically how it works on the PC version also. But since I can’t
run Skype and time a game both at the same time right now on my laptop, I can’t
do it that way anyhow.
The sound is great with Skype on my iPad Mini though. Those mikes are pretty
good.
I’m going to call you anyway just to see what options come up when I go to
another Contact. I really miss that simple way of adding people to a conference
call.

Hello Evan,
If you like, you can call me, and while we are connected, you can search the
screen to see if you can find out how to add a person on your ipad. I have not
played with Skype on the mobile platform in a while, but it used to just be a
button to double tap to add a person.
I am online now.

Thanks Renee,
Not sure if the people I’m timing for would be ready with this by tomorrow
morning, but I’ll keep this info for future events.

Evan, I am not an expert on this free conference call site, but I did a
little checking for you. First, a call is limited to 6 hours, but unlimited
calls - always free. Second, there do allow for international calls and I
copied and pasted what I found about that from their website. I made an
international call once in 1974, so this is obviously not my field of
expertise. :)

From the freeconferencecall.com website:
International Conference Calling
Can international callers participate?
FreeConferenceCall.com is a global service that can be used around the world.
For a list of international dial-in numbers, click View list on your Account
Info page. We have in-country dial-in numbers in 71 countries and counting.
How do I set up an international conference call?
To set up an international conference call, provide participants with the
local in-country dial-in number and access code. For an online meeting, include
the online meeting ID and/or join link. Notify participants of the date and
time of the conference call. At the scheduled time, call the dial-in number and
enter the access code followed by pound or hash (#). Hosts additionally enter
the host PIN followed by pound or hash (#).
If I am in a country that appears on my list of international dial-in
numbers, can I use the in-country number?
Yes, you can use any in-country dial-in number. All dial-in numbers can be
called from anywhere in the world.
Note: The access code remains the same and connects all callers.

Thanks Renee,
I’m not sure this would work for people outside the U.S. though. Or, if it
did, would they have to pay for the calls?

Even - Check out freeconferencecall.com (link below. That is what I use for
the board meetings. It works very well and is easy to set up. If you have any
problems with accessibility, I can help.

Hey Guys,
I’ve got Skype on my iPad Mini, and it looks pretty accessible. Calling
someone seems very straightforward, but I need to know, if any of you have done
a conference on Skype with an iPad or iPhone, how do you add someone to a call.
It sure isn’t straightforward on the PC anymore. It used to be when you
were on a call, you would just put your cursor on a second Contact, then hit
the context menu and go to Invite to Conference. They’ve changed it now and I
can’t figure it out.
I can’t use Skype and time a game on my laptop at the same time now
anyway. My Window Eyes won’t work with the latest Skype, and my JAWS crashes
the spreadsheet whenever I try to save it. So I have to use Skype on my iPad
and use the spreadsheet timer on my laptop.
Anyhow, if anyone here uses an iDevice for Skype conferences, I would be
grateful if you could tell me how to add a call to an existing conversation.
Thanks a lot.
