I am going against the grain, but I prefer where I can select a reply or
reply all option.

Hi Folks,
When Umpqua Birds was first moved to Freelists, the default setup was
one of us would hit reply and write a personal note to the sender, only to
find out it went to the whole group. Sometimes this was a little
embarrassing; most of the time it was inconsequential. In any case, we
changed the default setting so that if one hits reply the message goes only
to the original sender. To reply to the whole group, one needs to click a
dropdown arrow in your email program and select REPLY ALL.
This works okay, but some people forget that hitting reply goes onlyto the original sender. I often reply to all in an effort to continue a
group conversation, but then someone will reply only to me, thus ending the
"group" conversation, and making me wonder whether or not I should reply
and "re-send" the message to the whole group, or whether the person
intended to send their message only to me.
Sooo, I'm considering changing the settings back to the default"reply" being to the entire group. It is, after all, a group list.
Let me know what you think--or reply all and let everyone know. Thanks.
