Greetings Folks,

After a small job in Sutherlin today, I stopped at Plat I Reservoir and
Ford's Pond. The last time I was at Plat I it was very low; now it is very
full of water! Ford's Pond is slowly filling up.

At Plat I there was a winter-plumaged HORNED GREBE and among the several
dozen Tree Swallows was a single early NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW.

At Ford's Pond was a single male CINNAMON TEAL, a couple LINCOLN'S
SPARROWS, and I heard one VIRGINIA RAIL.

Both locations had plenty of sunning turtles!

Several locations over the past week, including home, I've seen
Golden-crowned Sparrows that are molting around their head, neck and upper
breast, a few showing just the beginnings of spring plumage (dark crown
stripes). Additionally, I have seen them foraging on male willow catkins;
not the whole thing, just biting off parts. Similarly on some other tree
flowers.

Matt
