I didn't have to summit when I climbed it years ago, there was a flock
moving around the talus slopes. I am told it can get a little tricky up
there when you begin to scramble.
I see you detected Horned Larks up there as well, another great county
bird!

I hiked up Mt Thielsen to find my Douglas County GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH.
We encountered two on the rock before there was any "scrambling" to do
while eating lunch. https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S59992348
There has been a male (immature?) EURASIAN WIGEON in the with wigeon flock
at Ford's Pond.
