A few days ago, I was up in my pear tree taking care of the annual pruning,
when a hummer buzzed my bright ball cap. I never saw it, but it sounded like a
Rufous. We live at 1500’ above Milo, and the visit seemed to be a little early.
The winter has been mild, so maybe it's to be expected.
I have only seen Rufous at this location, but we have plenty of them! When the
Red Hot Pokers (Kniphofia) are in bloom, the serious Hummer Wars begin! I don’t
post too frequently here, but I read everything that shows up in my inbox and
have learned a lot from your collective observations. Nancy Guth Milo

That's great Abraham, so far I only have the one female Rufous.
