We got lucky this spring, as a hairy woodpecker has decided to build a cavity
nest right outside our bedroom window, above our back deck.

The video is kinda long, but right near the beginning the woodpecker goes in
it’s hole, and a little while later squeezes out of it — a real squeeze. The
rest of the video is pecking at the hole more, and then doing some amazing
cleaning house, throwing out the sawdust.

Mostly housecleaning. The hole is so deep, it has to bend way in to grab
sawdust, squeezing in.
We hope it likes it’s new home, and will stick around and raise babies. We’ll
have a lot off fun with our camera.
